The Community signed two agreements with Turespaña for the promotion of tourism in the Region of Murcia (17/09/2009)

The Minister of Culture and Tourism, Pedro Alberto Cruz, today signed two agreements with the chairman of the Tourism Institute of Spain (Turespaña), Joan Mesquida, for the promotion of tourism in the Region of Murcia.

The first agreement was initialed Cruz, Mesquida, the mayor of Eagle, Juan Ramirez, and the president of the Tourist Consortium of Eagles, Sebastian Fernandez, and he starts the Tourism Competitiveness Plan 'Eagles, the sea and fishing', which is, in the words of the Cross, "an important milestone within the tourism policy of the Region and the State insofar as it involves singling out a place as Eagles with absolutely unique product which will value the whole tradition of fishing and the sea. "

This plan provides for 25 public performances, among which the acquisition of a fishing boat for tourism musealization Interpretation Centre, the establishment of Route Lookout Sea and the stove, creating a tourist route through the neighborhood fishing or the reservation of the seabed.

The investment is estimated at three million euros to develop and finance in three annual installments equally enter the three administrations, as well as 300,000 euros that the Eagles Tourist Consortium held in investments aimed at adapting its range of products and services to the purposes of this Convention.

Spanish Tourism Quality System in the Region

The second agreement, signed by Cruz and Mesquida, aims to introduce, promote and disseminate the Spanish Tourism Quality System in the Region of Murcia.

The agreement "is to highlight the importance that quality has today when to value and to determine the role of different products and, of course, to become more competitive in a market and at a time and in itself is very demanding, "said Cruz.

So with this agreement, which will run for four years, is intended to facilitate the mutual transfer of methodologies for quality tourism, encouraging the accession of the companies providing services and destinations to the tourism quality systems, to promote the visibility of Tourist quality systems to guide decisions of consumers and the extension of systems between destinations and tourist businesses and services directly or indirectly linked to tourism, and coordinating the preservation of heritage and common methodological developments to contribute to its extension and consolidation.
