Public Works to build a shed to improve the working conditions of fishermen Eagles (29/06/2009)

Works, procurement phase will begin this summer and have a lead time of five months

The Ministry of Public Works and Planning, through the Directorate General for Transport and Ports, build a shed at the Port of Eagles to improve the conditions of the local fishing industry, which includes more than a hundred fishermen and it will invest 760,554 euros.

The new facility, whose works are in employment, avoid prolonged exposure of fishermen to the sun or rain.

"With the new siding Eagles fishermen have a shelter to protect them from inclement weather on arrival at the coast," as stated by the director general of Transport and Ports, Carmen Sandoval.

The works, which will begin this summer and have a lead time of five months, include the construction of a gable roof to provide a floor area of 1,620 square meters with a width of 18 meters by 90 meters in length.

Sandoval added that "so we respond to the request of the fishermen in the area, from now, may make the maintenance of their fleets and tools with greater job security and more convenience in the development of daily work. "

The design provides that the entire surface, 10 meters tall, is on nine pillars and lighting available at the upper ends.

The director general said that this action "combines the functionality and usability of the new infrastructure with cutting-edge design that will be seamlessly integrated into the local coastal landscape."

Improvements to the promenade

Moreover, Sandoval recalled that in the coming months work will start to condition the promenade of the beautiful beach and Las Delicias, entailing an investment of 3.7 billion euros in the municipality and the creation of new jobs work.

The reform overlaps with the existing layout of the ride, which is 1,600 meters long and an average width of about six meters, on which will create new access to the beach along the stretch of Las Delicias.

In addition, the ordering gardens of the Paseo de Parra in the Playa de Levante and Air Street.

Similarly, the channel will be reshaped in the mouth of the Rambla de Las Culebras, which also will create a pedestrian terrace in the area near the Municipal Auditorium future.
