Public Works road safety improvement of the road between Mazarrón and Aguilas with a strong reinforcement (06/08/2008)

The Ministry of Works, Housing and Transport, through the Directorate General for Transport and Highways, will work hard on strengthening the N-332 (from Almeria to Valencia and Cartagena and Cabo de Gata), in the stretch joins Mazarrón and Aguilas.

This project is currently under recruitment, with a budget amounting to 388,343 euros and a deadline of three months from the date of tender.

N-332 road runs along the coast of Murcia and the stretch between Mazarrón and Ramonete (Eagles) has an Average Daily Traffic (ADT) of 4,385 vehicles per day, and 512 vehicles in heavy traffic.

In particular, the section under this action, located between mile markers four seven, ranging from the roundabout for liaison with the RM-3 (Totana, Mazarron) to the start of the variant to be built to run the AP- 7 (Autopista del Mediterráneo).

The works will be carried out consist in strengthening the road surface by the spreading of two layers of asphalt to improve its conditions and promote a comfortable and safe movement.

Furthermore, in order to improve road safety in the area and the convenience of users, is expected to pave the shoulders with a width of 1.20 meters on each side.

In total, 4,850 tons of asphalt spread and 1,300 meters concreted ditch to facilitate drainage of the road and protect the firm.
