David Garcia, winner of the greasy pole held on August 15 on the occasion of the events planned within the aquiline known as "Lady Day" yesterday donated his prize to the animal shelter Aguiproan.
The event, which took place in the hall of the City of Eagle, was attended by the mayor of Eagle, Mari Carmen Moreno, the Councillor of Celebration, Encarnacion Navarro, president of the protector, Maria Luisa Mataix, and the winner of this traditional test, David Garcia.
It gives the chance that this gesture coincides with the determination of the Department of Celebration of removing live turkey that until last year was placed at the end of the greasy pole;
decision was taken considering the Law 10/1990 of protection and defense of animals and that thought Garcia, "I think it was a success. Those who participated in the greasy pole can continue to do so without a living animal part her".
Garcia, who leads thirteen years proclaimed champion of this test, announced his commitment to continue economic donating prize money, one hundred fifty euros this time, in the successive editions that could again become a winner;
gesture was rated by Mataix "excellent news, considering the need for collaboration of the protective, sometimes overwhelmed by the number of dropouts occurring animal."
