For the government team PSOE and IU social needs come first (28/07/2015)

The amount allocated to the Election suppressed Gala Queen of the Festival has enabled 21 disabled children attend the Family Respite program and 70 children from disadvantaged families in school cafeterias open during July and August

In response to the controversy generated from the Popular Group of the City of Eagle connection with the suspension of the Gala Election of the Queen of the Festival.

The government team of the Socialist Party and United Left wishes to state that there are several reasons that serve to reaffirm the decision.

On the one hand, and although from the Popular Party intended to be sold as an event that "filled the Plaza de Antonio Cortijo," the reality is that in the last years had become an event with a marked absence of the public.

So much so that the free opening of the doors was necessary for two years to that event, we understand, compensate for the shortage of public.

Similarly, and according to the electoral commitments that the government team took the hawk citizenship, we believe that in the current situation the priority of an institution such as the City Council must be to respond to the real needs of citizens.

In this sense, we want to make clear that the economic value so far to an act was intended as the Gala Election of the Queen which, again, in recent years had lost the public interest served to launch two social projects such as the opening of school cafeterias during the summer months for children from families with limited resources and the Family Respite program for disabled children and their families.

Thus, the government team, thanks to a game of 18,000 euros has been able to offer 70 children, a significant increase compared to only 7 that benefited last year, a place in the two canteens that stay open in the town during July and August.

Similarly, an investment of 3,500 euros has served for 21 disabled children and their families are benefiting Family Respite Program launched.
