The government team launches a Summer School for disabled children (13/07/2015)

The Department of Social Services City of Eagle has launched a summer school aimed at children with intellectual disabilities.

A project that could be realized with the signing of agreement this afternoon subscribed to the mayor of Eagle, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the president Urci Occupational Center, Josefa Lopez.

This project arises from the commitment from the current government of the Socialist Party and United Left to offer both children and their families a fun and educational alternative for students with intellectual disabilities during the summer months when their centers of origin, mostly school Soubrier Pilar, close their doors.

The first hooked mayor expressed satisfaction with the implementation of a program that "will promote among children with intellectual disabilities to learn the benefits that leisure reports, such as emotional well-being, empowerment and relationships social inclusion and continued Moreno will besides- respite for families that mostly have great difficulty when the schools these children close to balance work and family life ".

For his part, the president Urci Occupational Center, where space is developing from day one this past summer school, thanked the City Council the implementation of this program.

Lopez claimed he was "very happy and that- aseguraba- these children need, like other children, have over the summer with a space in which to develop primarily recreational and leisure activities."

For the development of this Summer School, which will last until next July 31, the Department of Social Services has made an investment of 3,267 euros.

"An insignificant amount considering the benefit accruing to these children and their families," the mayor announced.

The program, to which embodiment has five fully trained caregivers to perform this work, includes, among other activities excursions Civil Protection center where children will enjoy an exhibition of rescue dogs;

a weekly beach and the pool with the help of Red Cross staff output;

and craft workshops and psychomotor.
