The mayor of Women, Personal Finance and the City of Eagle, Maria Patrocinio Martinez, accompanied by other local authorities and guests, the exhibition opened last night '... them', part of the commemoration of the International Day of Women's Rights.
The exhibition, which is assigned by the Directorate General of Cultural Heritage and the Regional Library of Murcia, will be open until March 13, 18 to 21 hours, Monday to Friday in the Exhibition Hall 'Manuel Coronado 'House of Culture' Francisco Rabal '.
'... Them' is the collection of the work of illustrators thirteen women.
These artists make use of drawing and word as a strategy combining celebration and vindication of the feminine, leaving us to explore in images that reflect the particularities of their universes and flood readers pain, irony, humor and tenderness, between other sensations.
As explained during the opening ceremony until the 60s, the world of illustrations was dominated mostly by men.
The comics recreated images of women with an erotically charged, as objects of desire, which were protagonists of fantasies and adventures in which rarely showed intelligent and own their lives.
From those years, the authors created a new comic genre that bring their life experience, appear their daily lives, their situations and relationships with other women and with men, breaking down stereotypes.
Sponsorship Maria Martinez wanted to invite citizens to visit this exhibition and has predicted that, soon, will announce the full program of events organized its council to commemorate the International Day of Women's Rights.
