This morning took place at the headquarters of the Yacht Club of Eagle, the presentation of the XIV Carnival II Trophy Regatta Estrella Levante.
The ceremony was conducted by the mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, the council of Celebration, Clara Valverde, President of the Yacht Club, Miguel Lopez, President of the Federation of Peñas de Carnaval, José Alonso, and the boatswain the Marina Juan Montiel, Luis Romero.
According to the organizers detailed, fifty boats have registered to participate in this test, scoring for the Regional Championship Cruise and ORC Cup Spain.
The vessels, with lengths between 7 and 14 meters, from different ports of the Region of Murcia and other neighboring regions, such as Andalusia and Valencia.
The regatta will be held in two rounds and is designed in a triangle of 18 miles, located between Fraile Island, Bay of Levante and Calarreona.
The first competition will take place this Sunday, February 8, and the second on Saturday 14. The latter, with the peculiarity that most of the crew will disguise.
During his speech, the local chief executive congratulated the leadership of the Yacht Club, to contribute to enlarge the Eagles Carnival this important sporting event, while highlighting the collaboration of individuals and other entities such as the Puerto Deportivo Juan Montiel, who give their berths to accommodate the large fleet that during those days remains in the city.
Bartolome Hernandez concluded its stating that 'the success of this race and the whole carnival program lies in the involvement of all, since the variety of activities related to the celebration result in a special and unique carnival in the world' statements, said the mayor.
