The mayors of Eagle and Puerto Lumbreras, Bartolome Hernandez and Maria Angeles Tunisia, attended this afternoon at a news conference on Leader Strategy in the Rural Development Programme 2014-2020, where he also attended the council of Agriculture and Education Consistory aquiline, Francisco Navarro and Francisco Clemente, along with other guests.

The lecture, held at the Cultural Hall Cajamurcia, was coordinated by Fernando Galán, head of Service Diversification of Rural Economy of the Directorate General of Irrigation and Rural Development of the Ministry of Agriculture and Water, who offered the conference accompanied by other experts in this field.

Leader is a development methodology represented by Local Action Groups, which seeks to involve rural ciudadanosde improvement projects in their areas.

The population analyzes the status of its territory and identifies issues that affect you, prioritizes, explores possible solutions, designed a strategy to implement, execute the strategic program and finally evaluates and undertakes new challenges.

This system has already shown it can make a big difference in the daily lives of the rural population and has offered these nuclei not only the instruments necessary to actively participate in its development, but has also provided the necessary financial support to carry out improvement projects.

The Leader project offers European, national and regional funding sectors and categories of beneficiaries who do not normally receive aid as cultural activities, improve the natural environment, rehabilitation of architecture and heritage buildings ... with emphasis on improving infrastructure and services to the population.

Over the years, this initiative has generated attractive ideas, tools and methods that have resulted in the creation enterprise and employment even in the most disadvantaged areas, establishing itself as an appropriate methodology for the implementation of development processes rural.
