The City of Eagle and the Mapfre Foundation signed an agreement for the employment of young people with mental illness (16/09/2014)

The City of Eagle, the Mapfre Foundation and the Association of Families and Persons with Mental Illness Eagles and Shire (AFEMAC), today signed a cooperation agreement, which is part of the job placement program for young people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness, entitled 'Together we can', belonging to the Department of Social Action from the insurance company.

At the ceremony were present the mayor of Eagle, Bartolomé Hernández;

the mayor of Finance and woman, María Martínez Sponsorship;

Murcia president of the Spanish Committee of Representatives of Persons with Disabilities (CERMI), Pilar Morales;

Mapfre office director Lorca, Antonio López;

and the president of AFEMAC, Dolores Morales, along with other guests.

With this agreement, four to six young with mental illness will conduct training practices in local government, allowing them to acquire skills in the tasks carried out in various municipal offices, with employees of the City.

The agreement will last for one year and will enable participants to obtain a scholarship awarded by the program 'Together we can', as well as being tutored by professionals AFEMAC Association.

During the heading, it has become clear commitment of the municipal government with the most vulnerable people, supporting various initiatives in favor of them, both in the workplace and in education, permanently, housing, food or health , among others.

As for the Mapfre Foundation in late 2010 launched the 'Together we can' program, working directly with social organizations, business associations and public institutions.

During this time, he has allowed a total of 1,900 companies actively cooperate with the program, facilitating the formation of over 900 students and the employment of over 1,200 people with intellectual disabilities and mental illness.

Finally, from AFEMAC have welcomed the signing of this agreement, which will help facilitate the social integration and job autonomy of its members and staff, serving as a complement to the various programs developed by this group.
