The Civil Guard detained 16 people for fraud of electricity in a building of Eagles (03/01/2014)

The final phase of the investigation was precipitated by the high fire risk due to the precarious craft connections

The Guardia Civil of the Region of Murcia, under the 'Crime Prevention Plan Against Heritage' has developed the 'TAKELMA' operation to clear a series of usurpations of homes and disappointment of electricity in a building of Eagles, which has resulted in the arrest of 16 people suspected of this type of crime.

The arrests were precipitated because the illegal installation of electricity had poor security measures and there was a clear risk of fire in the building.

The investigation began last summer when agents specializing in public safety prevention Eagles had knowledge of the alleged occupation of a building in the town of irregular shape.

The performed investigations led officers to the location of the building in the town, which had been abandoned by the developer and owner, and where, allegedly, more than half of families had occupied housing, which lacked the required card habitability.

During the investigation, agents found that in households had fraudulently connected electrical supply with very poor and lacking security measures 'hooks', which could lead to failures in the supply and large-scale fires.

For these reasons and once obtained all necessary evidence, the Meritorious precipitated the operational phase of the operation and to the arrest of 16 people, 15 Spaniards and a Moroccan, aged 18 and 61, as alleged perpetrators of the crime of theft of electricity.

In the investigation, the Guardia Civil has enjoyed the cooperation of inspectors electric utilities (supply of last resort) and local police agents Eagles.

Last year 2013, in the Region of Murcia Meritorious investigated 36 offenses of theft of electric power that have been clarified with the arrest / complaint over fifty people, many of them related to illicit marijuana growing indoors property.
