More than 40 health professionals from Eagles join the launch of 'Active Programme' exercise prescription (19/11/2013)

The Ministry of Health and Social Policy also promotes the 'Active Families Programme' aimed at families with children to prevent chronic disease from childhood

The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, signed an agreement with the mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, to start, with the participation of 44 health professionals, the 'Program Turns' exercise prescription.

Thus, in addition to this initiative, the Health Center Eagles Eagles North and South and the Primary Care Clinic and Los Arejos Calabardina to form two working groups starting next January.

This activity, part of the Health Plan 2010-2015, is a community program that is developed in collaboration with the municipalities in the region to promote physical activity, promoting health self-care and healthy habits once the program.

The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, said "it is a health education strategy, part of the School of Health and Care Strategy 2015 Chronicity of Murcia Health Service, and directed to the sedentary population. "

Currently, there are 17 locations that are carrying out the 'Active Programme' in 43 health centers of the region.

To do this, we have created 133 groups driven exercise in coordination with 271 primary care health professionals of which 156 are doctors and 115 nurses.

Palacios said that "with the addition of this initiative Eagles continue our roadmap to extend the 'Active Programme' to all parts of the Region and later also will sign agreements in Yecla, Jumilla and Mazarrón".

So far and from the beginning of 'Active Programme', in 2010, more than 2,500 people in the region that have benefited from this initiative that the Ministry is introducing new variants like the 'Active Families Programme " .

'Active Families Programme'

The Minister of Health and Social Policy said that a few months ago also started with the 'Active Families Programme', a variant of 'Active Programme', aimed at families with children aged between nine and eleven years with sedentary habits and signs of overweight or obesity.

The 'Active Families Programme' was piloted last summer in the town of Molina de Segura and San Javier with 40 families and, as said Palacios, "reflects positively on how they have embraced the public, professionals and local consistory so encourages us to continue educating and expanding health throughout the region. "
