The Eagles municipal archaeologist opens the Lecture XVIII "Watching the Sea" (02/08/2013)

The mayor, Bartolome Hernandez, along with Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Francisco Miguel Martinez and Cycle coordinator, José Asensio, these talks that opened last night and will continue until August 13.

Last night was beginning in the eighteenth Eagles Lecture "Watching the Sea", which will be held until August 13, every Tuesday and Thursday at 20:00 pm in the Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Doña Elena, bringing together a total of four talks.

The mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez, by the Councillor for Culture and Heritage, Francisco Miguel Martinez and Cycle coordinator, José Asensio, inaugurated this activity framed in educational summer International University Mar.

The first presentation was given by local archaeologist, Juan de Dios Hernández, entitled "Death in Rome.'s World in Roman funerary Eagles."

The conference discussed various aspects: the meaning of death for this society, the funeral, the funeral, the belief about the afterlife, acts of purification including banquets include funeral rites and cremation burial, the subsequent influence of Christianity, etc..

Similarly, results were presented numerous archaeological work carried out in Eagles and the contribution of this research to the knowledge of the burial customs in Hispania and more specifically in the Mediterranean seafront, an area with a high degree of Romanization.

Thursday, August 13: The profile of a Spanish politician of the eighteenth century: Commissioner Antonio Robles Vives, by the Professor of Modern History at the University of Murcia, Juan Hernandez Franco.
