CCOO claims that over the Eagles golf is precarious agriculture at the expense of workers (08/07/2013)

Hundreds of workers come to work every day to the fields of Eagles poor pay and working conditions

According to SEPS, last June had 3,399 unemployed people in the town of Eagle, of which 631 are in the agricultural sector.

However, daily and for several months a year, arriving to work in the fields of Eagles dozens of buses from different parts of the Region of Murcia and in some cases, from other neighboring regions, with workers.

For Agrifood CCOO Federation (FEAGRA-CCOO) this situation is motivated because some companies and entrepreneurs who now occupy and exploit agricultural land and facilities Eagles are taking the crisis, the rise in unemployment following the closure of several local companies and the basic needs of people, and more precarious labor market deregulation, bringing workers (committing transport costs) in lower pay and conditions to those agreed in collective agreements.

They deal with this unfair and precarious jobs for job seekers that there are professional and trained in various agricultural specialties Eagles, whose only condition is to claim that in their employment to respect labor and social rights acquired over the years and struggles through collective bargaining.

FEAGRA-CCOO has detected this trend towards the casualization of the agricultural sector, and increased irregular or underground economy, which although not unique to Murcia in our region with special emphasis does, as reflected in the conference "Strategies for do Emerging Activity and Employment in the Agricultural Sector "organized by CCOO FEAGRA-Haro (La Rioja) in the month of June with the participation of the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, the MAGRAMA, labor inspection, Agrifood Cooperatives and CCOO.

In the same vein, on Wednesday July 3, Jesus Villar, State General Srio FEAGRA-CCOO and Angel Soler, SRIO.

FEAGRA-General of CCOO in Murcia, met with Antonio Cerdá, Minister of Agriculture of Murcia, on the occasion of the European Agreement on the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), emphasizing the need to condition economic aid for the sector will, to the creation of quality jobs, with dignity, and the fight against irregular or underground economy in the Region of Murcia.

To FEAGRA-CCOO what happens in the Eagles camp is not an isolated case, but it is necessary to correct it.

Just as was done with the central government and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Autonomous Community, we call upon the Municipal Corporation of Eagles who will join this purpose to ensure labor and social interests of workers in the field and not keep looking the other way.
