The woman mayor in the City of Eagle, Maria Martinez Sponsorship on behalf of the Municipal People, has raised a proposal to the General Affairs Committee, for subsequent transfer to the regular plenary session of November, in relation to the commemoration of International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.

In this regard, Mary Sponsorship Martinez said that our society is now more aware than in the past on this type of violence, thanks largely to the efforts of women's organizations, the media and different administrations.

According to Martinez, is no longer a crime that lurks within each house, but a rejection and a clear collective alarm.

The popular mayor wanted to point out that "this kind of violence is not only a victim, but when there are children they also are directly".

Councilwoman woman has been convinced that the municipalities, as administration closer to citizens, should encourage the mobilization and sensitization of the general public, because violence against women is a problem that requires so be understood and accepted by the whole population, which should be positioned in front of her.

According to the popular, municipalities must take a firm commitment to prevention, education and awareness, noting that this problem can only be solved through awareness and education of the public, as this is the cornerstone on which to work, focusing on all values ​​of equality between men and women.

Given the above, will be submitted for consideration by the General Affairs Committee approved the following resolutions:

First: To express, to mark the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, the unanimous rejection of Gender Violence and unconditional support to victims.

Second: To promote information and awareness campaigns accessible to the entire population, to analyze the phenomenon of violence in all its dimensions, as a violation of fundamental rights.

Third: Guarantee from the administration, the media that will promote early detection, care and treatment of victims.

Fourth: To sensitize and adolescents to identify from the beginning of his life manifestation of gender violence to achieve their education on respect and equality.

Fifth: To sensitize the educational community about the causes and consequences of violence against women, pointing out that it is a tragedy that can strike anyone and only with the commitment of society can be eradicated.
