The mayor of Eagle, accompanied by the Councillor for Education and director of the Center, today opened the Conference.

This morning took place the inauguration of the School of Intercultural Week VIII "Ramón y Cajal", an act that has been made by the mayor of Eagle, Bartolome Hernandez Gimenez, together with the Councillor for Education, Francisco Clemente, and the director of the Center Eduardo Peñalver.

Under the slogan "Eagles, the cradle of cultures", the program of events will run from Monday until Friday, including: workshops, lectures, traditional games, exhibitions and storytelling.

The objectives of this conference are to facilitate the integration and socialization of students in school life, encourage respect for different cultural events, assess our city from the knowledge of different cultures that have passed by her and her contributions to our history, respect the resources of the environment, promote behaviors that encourage acceptance of diversity, develop activities that encourage cooperative working attitudes and respect for the rules and regulations and encourage participation and collaboration of different sectors of the educational community and agents external to them.

As pointed out by Eduardo Peñalver "the presence and the steady increase of students of different nationalities and cultures in our classrooms, leads to the need to facilitate the integration and social integration and education of the students, with reference to our people as a meeting of different cultures throughout history. "

Finally, both the mayor of Eagle as the Councillor for Education expressed their appreciation for this type of activity, while congratulating the direction of CEIP "Ramón y Cajal" by organizing the Intercultural Week VIII.
