The Municipal People's rise to the regular plenary session of October to be held next Tuesday, the 26th, at 20:00 pm in the consistory aquiline, a motion to urge the National Government to include in the budget General State of 2011 a game to start regeneration works Portman Bay.
The motion to be debated in plenary session by all political groups represented municipal, reads as follows:
In January of 2006 was signed between the three government Regeneration Convention for the Portman Bay, in order to carry out the actions that bridge which has been regarded by many organizations as a major ecological attack in history in the Mediterranean Sea, the result of mining activity carried out during the second half of the twentieth century, the predator and no respect for the environment.
In this context, and brought to a successful end after the timely ideas competition held for the purpose, began drafting the technical project by the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine Affairs, which was finalized and approved in July 2008.
At recent meetings of the Monitoring Committee of the Convention, the most recent being held in Murcia in October 2009, has been informing the Ministry that the project was now subject to environmental assessment process and expected the same would be completed shortly.
It was also agreed last year to hold another meeting of the Commission during the month of January 2010, but it has been concluded and no explanation has been provided thereon by the responsible ministries of the Government of Spain.
On September 30, 2010 has come to light that the law of the State Budget for 2011 there is a budget for the bidding of the regeneration works Portman Bay, except for a party of 909 000 euros expected to pay off previous studies conducted on blanketing the ground in previous years.
That situation, according to People's Party of the Region of Murcia, is understood to be entirely unacceptable and must be corrected.
Therefore, the Municipal People rise to the plenary for discussion and approval the following resolution:
1 .- To urge the Ministry of Economy to include in the General State Budget for 2011 a significant item to start the work of regeneration Portman Bay.
2 .- To urge the Ministry of Environment, Rural and Marine that, during the first half of 2011, tendered for the proposed reclamation works Portman Bay.
