Investment in railways increased by more than 7% compared to last year

The Development Ministry will allocate EUR 284.5 million to activities in the Region of Murcia in 2011, as stated in the bill of the State Budget.
Despite budget adjustments to reduce the deficit, Development maintains all priority actions in this region, where investment will be at similar levels to the average of 2005-2010 and will double the period 2000-2004.
Thus, ensuring the construction budgets and time limits for high-speed line Alicante-Murcia, which was launched in 2014, and include funding for major projects developed in the Community Building.
Railways
The Development Ministry earmarked 188.8 million euros a railway performances Murcia, 7% more than in 2010.
This investment allows you to continue the work of connecting sections of Murcia with the LAV to east, with the aim of putting into service in 2014.
In addition, the LAV Murcia-Almeria will continue with the execution of works, projects and ongoing studies.
The budget also ensure the following actions:
Continue work on the line Chinchilla - Murcia (Camarillas variant).
Continuing studies in high-speed connection between Murcia and Cartagena, and informative studies completed the integration of the railway in Murcia and Cartagena, proceeding to the bidding for key projects in both cases.
Continue the proceedings under the protocol signed by the Autonomous Community of Murcia, LVEF, and the city of Cartagena for the development of actions for the implementation of urban and intercity rail.
In addition, it will start drafting plans for the development of the Strategic Plan to Promote Rail Freight 2010-2020, for which there is fitted a new budget, and develop a partnership with the Autonomous Community where the possibilities for action and schedule for the zones and logistics platforms.
Roads
The Development Ministry will allocate 61.3 million euros to Murcia road performances.
This investment allows you to follow up actions that improve urban mobility in the environment of Murcia, as the works of Southwest Connection Murcia or writing projects in the North and Northwest Arcos de Murcia.
In the case of Reguerón Highway, includes the drafting of the completion of the works and scheduled for successive financial years contract.
Also continue the drafting of all projects to increase capacity (new lanes) and improvement of the quality of existing highways, most notably those of the Mediterranean motorway A-7 motorway from Murcia A-30 (between Cartagena and Albacete) and the urban area of Murcia.
Airport
Development will allocate 7.9 million euros to actions at the airport in San Javier, double that of 2010.
This item will be devoted to measures to improve safety (installation of a Baggage Handling System) and improvements to the Terminal Building (adequacy of the Billing and Shipping Areas) and the airfield.
Ports
Works will invest 25.3 million euros in performances at the Bulk Terminal Port Authority of Cartagena.
