Television and its "convergence" in a course at the University of Murcia (01/09/2010)

The world of television, their routines, their convergence technology, and especially the evolution that is occurring in recent years in terms of formats and media are the cornerstones of a course to be held the third week September in Aguilas, in the summer offer from the University of Murcia.

The journalist Vicente Vallés, President of the Press Association of Madrid, Fernando González Urbaneja, the President of the Federation of Journalists in Spain (FAPE), Elsa González, and professionals from the region of Murcia, as our colleague Antonio Semitiel offer their dissertations on how they view the profession and the media companies in a landscape characterized by multi-supply and audience fragmentation.

In search of a true and alleged profitability, everything seems to converge today: the technologies, audiences, formats, the bid itself, the interests ...

Media groups, with new profiles and formats that harvest more viewers will be taken into account in the course of the Universidad del Mar, which goes in its fourth year, after reaping success with audiences and students in the recent years, becoming a reference in the summer offer different Spanish universities.

Not for nothing is working with the course itself Murcia Journalists Association and the FAPE, the Federation of Associations of Journalists in Spain.

During this academic meeting will also offer workshops to help students learn to see an informative and making various television spots.

According to its director, John Thomas Frutos, "has an introductory character, but surely come out with a pretty good idea and interesting than it is in television production, with its pros and cons, with its enormous costs and constraints."

Entertainment programs will be addressed in a special way, as well as information and those who provide social and educational.

Technology convergence makes one think at all levels, the written and audiovisual, they also integrated in the various Internet platforms.

This will be studied with sufficient critical awareness to propose even television spots that, while minority audiences, may provide what is called social interest and public service.
