Yesterday the poster announcing Holy Week was presented, work of the aquiline painter Pedro Juan Rabal (15/02/2018)

Yesterday, coinciding with the celebration of Ash Wednesday, a day that marks the beginning of Lent, the poster announcing Holy Week of Eagles was presented in the church of San José.

The event was attended, among others, by the President of the Cabildo de Cofradías, José Cáceres, and the Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, in charge of discovering the image of the poster in front of all the attendees.

This year it is an oil painting with the image of Jesus of the Column, work of the aquiline painter Pedro Juan Rabal.

During the event, in which the painter received a metope from Sebastián Muñóz, president of the Incarnate Pass of which the aforementioned Christ is the titular image, Cáceres said "present this poster with the illusion that it is the last of a party of local interest and that of step to the awaited Declaration of Regional Tourist Interest for which we have been fighting for a long time in collaboration with the City Council of Águilas ".

The presentation also served to publicize the name of the preacher of Holy Week, a recognition that this year has fallen to Emilio Andrés Sánchez, rector of the Basilica of the True Cross.

A proclamation that this year, as a novelty, will take place on the Thursday prior to the celebration of the Friday of Dolores in the course of the Serenade to the Patroness.
