The president of the Community, Fernando López Miras, attended today the first great parade of comparsas and carriages of the Carnival of Águilas, "a unique show, declared of International Tourist Interest and one of the references of the Region of Murcia", said the chief of the Regional Executive.
"The Carnival of Águilas represents what we Murcia are," remarked López Miras, who stressed that "we are a welcoming land where we welcome the visitor with open arms so you can enjoy the best of the Region."
He also stressed "the illusion, fantasy, joy, originality and creativity" of this party.
He acknowledged feeling "very excited and happy" to be in Águilas "as president of all Murcia" and recalled that in this municipality he lived for some years.
"I congratulate all the aquiline people for being an example of what we are capable of doing in the Region of Murcia when we work together for the same goal," concluded López Miras.
