The lack of wind obliges us to shorten the first race of the XVII Eagles Carnival Regatta / V Estrella de Levante Trophy (05/02/2018)

In the previous day, the Real Club de Regatas de Cartagena gave way to the Transport Regatta that provided a large part of the boats with their approach to Águilas.

The harsh conditions of wind and sea in the vicinity of Cabo Tiñoso caused serious breakdowns and numerous abandonments.

The test, which enrolled 47 yachts and 300 sailors, began with a meteorology too benign.

The weak breeze of the west only allowed to complete the first of the planned sections of the route of 12 nautical miles since before reaching the fleet the mark located in front of the limits of Murcia with Andalusia, the Race Committee announced that it was shortened in anticipation of the fall of the wind.

The winners of the classes were:

CLASS 1 AND 2

KUNDAKA-ELITE SAILS skippered by JOSE LUIS COELLO NUÑEZ from RCRCARTAGENA

CLASS 3

CAÑAS II skippered by FEDERICO MONTOYA PAREDES del RCRCARTAGENA

CLASS 4

ZALATA skippered by HUMERTO MARTINEZ BARBERA of the RCRCARTAGENA

CLASS E

AGUAMARINA skippered by ANTONIO CARRASCO RECHE from CNAGUILAS

The race will conclude next Saturday, February 10, with the dispute of the second race and the Musona Trophy.
