Christmas programming once again has children as protagonists (01/12/2017)

The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Festejos, Encarna Navarro, were in charge of presenting this morning the program of activities that will take place tomorrow in the municipality on the occasion of the Christmas holidays and that, as It could be otherwise, it will have the children as main protagonists.

Among the programmed activities repeated, after the success of the last editions, the traditional Christmas market to be held in the Plaza de España from 8 to 10 December and, as a novelty, will have the collaboration for its organization of the Association of Merchants and Industriales de Águilas.

Also in the popular Roundabout there will be the School Contest of Christmas Carols (December 20), the reception to Santa Claus (December 23), the Christmas and puppet animation workshops (December 26 and 27) and the cavalcade and subsequent reception of the Magi (January 5).

The music will also have a place in the Plaza de España with the performances of the group La Blue Band, responsible for entertaining the end of the year night

Continuing with the activities focused on the youngest of the house, one more year they will be responsible for climbing the tables of the House of Culture Francisco Rabal and the stage installed in the Plaza de España to stage works such as Tom Thumb, The whimsical snail, Un the reverse, The flower of Lilola, The Superheroes, The presumed rat, Snow White, Oz and A Christmas story, all included in the Imagine School Theater series.

The program of activities includes the popular Christmas race, the Kings Cycle Ride, the popular Carrera del Pavo, the shop window contest, the Nativity Scene contest of the Association of Housewives or the theatrical performance, financed by the Cajamurcia Foundation, The Cicada and the Ant in which the tickets will be replaced by bottles of oil for the benefit of Cáritas.

It should also be noted that this program is joined by cultural activities, already presented, and more traditional events such as the Christmas Grid (December 30) and the events that will take place in these districts, such as the Mass. , procession and dance of cuadrillas that will take place on Thursday, December 8 at El Garrobillo;

Easter on the Cuesta de Gos on Christmas day;

or the feast of the Innocents on December 28 also in El Garrobillo.
