The green zone of the Industrial Estate will have a walk that will go through different areas of traditional trees in the orchard (01/12/2017)

The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, and the mayor of Local Development and Training, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, visited the student-workers of the PMEF Youth Guarantee "Green Belt in the Surroundings of the Circunvalación de Águilas. Phase I" they are currently developing an operation in the southern green zone of the El Labradorcico Industrial Estate.

The program, which involves 12 young people attached to the Youth Guarantee Program who until now were unemployed and through which they will acquire a certificate of professionalism, is co-financed by the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, the Social Fund European Union and the City Council of Águilas, which has made an important financial contribution to develop it.

The actions that are being developed at this moment consist of the installation of an irrigation system and the planting of different species, together with the design of an area of ​​local use and enjoyment.

Specifically, an irrigation head with a timer and a fertilizer spreader has been installed, which will provide the necessary water resources for the entire area.

During the visit, the first mayor stressed that "it has been designed for the environment a walk that will allow the leisure and sporting practice and that will cover the whole extension of the plot passing through the different sectors of plantation." The objective is to create a space that represents the traditional woodland of the orchard but using non-usable species to avoid the damages suffered by poor collection ".

Of the three wooded areas, the first one will have 21 units of bitter orange, 12 of pomegranate, 6 of quince, 7 of laurel and 5 of red plum;

in the second zone, 25 units of tetraclinis articulata, 6 of jinjolero, 15 of hawthorn and 7 of mulberry will be planted;

finally, for the third zone, 6 units of carob and 4 of fig trees have been reserved.
