Hernández: "We have taken art to the streets, revitalized the Auditorium programming and approved reduced rates for everyone to have access to culture" (15/06/2017)

Continuing with the appearances of the socialist councilors of the Government Team in order to be accountable to the citizens arrived at the equator of the legislature, Lucía Hernández, edil of Culture and Childhood, made a balance in which it gave account of the electoral commitments in these two years.

The mayor began her review of the electoral program, referring to the implementation of a program of actions aimed at aiding the integral development of children, such as the implementation of holiday canteens, summer schools for children with disabilities, Of the textbooks or the aid directed to large families according to their incomes.

Within the Culture section, the socialist councilor highlighted the start-up of the Escalart project;

"An initiative that," he said, "has managed to get the art to the streets thus fulfilling our commitment to equity with all neighborhoods, since the stairs are in different areas of the town, To the local artists and a new tourist attraction for the locality ".

Continuing with another of the priority commitments of the PSOE Government Team, the mayor referred to the commissioning of the Culture Commission as "a commitment to citizen participation through the creation of an advisory body with which it is given Voice to the neighbors in the matter of culture ".

On the Commission, Hernández emphasized that many projects are being developed, and he mentioned, for example, the celebration of the Short Story Eagle Award, taking as a background the Eagles' Eagle Award from 1968 to 1972, intends to retake the literary movement that marked the history of our municipality in the decade of the sixties.

Another of the performances carried out in these two years have been the improvements in lighting and furniture in the Municipal Library with the installation of a new luminaire better adapted to the reading and placement of ergonomic chairs for study.

With regard to the Auditorium and Congress Center, the revitalization of programming has been one of the lines marked by the socialist mayor.

Thus, Hernandez bet by the inclusion of the same in the Platea Program, dependent of the Ministry of Culture through the National Institute of Performing Arts and of Music, and that allows to bring to the municipality works of quality that, in many cases, Are absolute premieres, as well as in the Scene Program, with the same characteristics as the previous one but dependent on the Ministry.

Also, with regard to the novelties of the Auditorium, in these two years new reduced rates have been approved for students, retirees, unemployed and groups in order "to make culture a good that everyone can access".

Lucía Hernández, concluded his intervention by referring to three projects in which the Council is working and hopes to see the light in what remains of the legislature, specifically the Interpretation Center of Paco Rabal, he said, "is quite advanced", the Institute of Performing Arts, the Popular University and the Manuel Coronado Foundation.
