The artist Gelu Perez devotes a mural columbines embroiderers (20/09/2016)

Walking along the Bay of Levante, a great burst of color makes passersby shift their gaze to a singular wall, in which the artist aquiline Gelu Pérez has squandered all their creativity to pay a pictorial tribute to the columbines embroiderers.

"The mural project is dedicated to all embroiderers Eagles and especially my mother, Isabel Soto Salas. It is made with drawings that she used to embroider. Four initial corresponding to the four members of my family in it appear . the tones of the mural are happy, as befits its always affable nature and are degraded in color scale, apart from enriching the colorful mural, are inspired by the thread spools embroidery that make the same effect, "he said the author of the work during the inauguration of it.

The event, which took place last Friday, attended by a significant number of relatives of the artist and friends, as well as representatives of the municipal corporation, including the mayor of Culture, Lucia Hernandez was in charge of uncovering the commemorative plaque event.

Hernandez stressed the importance of women embroiderers in maintaining this cultural tradition and praised the idea of ​​dedicating a mural to this office.

Gelu Perez is a graduate in Fine Arts from the University of Murcia and APIMO Secretary, Association of Painters of Murcia and Other Arts.

He has exhibited in numerous venues and is currently involved in a multidisciplinary exhibition in Murcia.
