[The López Miras government does not guarantee compliance with its own regulations (18/08/2021)

Francis Gallego vindicates the historic investment in Education that the Government of Spain has undertaken in the face of cuts from the Regional Executive The joint Order of June 29, 2021 on Health and Education, by which face-to-face activity is reestablished for the 21/22 academic year in Educational Centers, literally states that it will be carried out "enabling maximum presence and in a safe and healthy environment "and regulates the organizational and hygienic-sanitary measures that Educational Centers must apply through their contingency plans.

The application of the organizational measures requires the continuity of the COVID reinforcement teachers who, however, the counselor has denied that she is going to hire.

Likewise, the hygienic-sanitary measures imply a reinforcement of cleaning in the mornings, which supposes an extra expenditure of economic resources on the part of the City Council, for which the Autonomous Community has not provided a subsidy.

This need is derived directly from the Pandemic situation; Therefore, its financing must come from the COVID resources that the Autonomous Community is receiving from the Central Government.

The Regional Government, therefore, does not provide the economic means or the human resources necessary to allow compliance with its own regulations; he abandons responsibilities, forgetting that the competences in education correspond to them.

The educational cuts that López Miras intends to implement for the next school year, in which there will be no COVID reinforcement teachers and the teaching staff in the Centers of the Region will be reduced, contrast with the investment of the Government of the nation, with the transfer of more than 84 million euros extra last year so that the regional government could ensure full presence in the classrooms.

To the historical investment must be added the 200 million euros that the Government of Spain will distribute among the CCAA for the creation of new public places for Early Childhood Education from 0 to 3 years, which will have a huge impact in the Region, since it will receive 6 of those millions for the creation of 700 new places at this stage.

"We demand that the citizens of the destination that CARM is giving to the COVID funds are made aware of.

The municipalities are the ones that are really under-financed.

We urge López Miras to transfer, through a grant, COVID funds to the municipalities to continue assuming the needs derived from the pandemic situation in the educational field ", recalled the Secretary of Education of the Socialist Group of Águilas, Francis Gallego, who has indicated that" it is verified that López Miras and his Minister of Education are not really concerned seek educational quality and guarantee the health safety of our students ".
