[Águilas participates in a video meeting of SICTED Destinations (26/01/2021)

The Águilas Tourist Office, represented by the technician Teresa Rodríguez, and the Councilor for Tourism, Ginés Desiderio Navarro, participated yesterday in a video meeting to coordinate activities in SICTED destinations in the Region of Murcia, organized by the General Directorate of Quality Tour.

At the meeting the new SICTED destinations were presented, as well as the new structure and staff of the Directorate General for Tourism Competitiveness and Quality for the coordination of SICTED destinations in the Region of Murcia.

The lines of action for this year have also been drawn, while taking stock of 2020, among other issues.

As one of the most "veteran" SICTED Destinations, the representatives of Águilas have contributed, in the words of the mayor of Tourism, "our experience as a destination and as destination managers to the network and new destinations, as well as presented various questions of interest to SICTED destinations ".

WHAT IS SICTED? SICTED is a project to improve the quality of tourist destinations promoted by the Secretary of State for Tourism (SET), with the support of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces (FEMP), which works with companies and tourist services of up to 32 trades different, with the ultimate goal of improving the tourist experience and satisfaction.

WHAT IS SCTE DESTINOS SICTED? The SCTE Destinations-SICTED is a methodology that provides a comprehensive and permanent quality management system in a tourist destination with a new conception of the expected results, a focus on continuous improvement and an attitude of recovery and enhancement of resources and space.

.

This methodology is based on the integral awareness of the destination and the identification of common objectives of the agents involved.

The SCTE Destinations-SICTED pursues a homogeneous level of quality in the services offered to tourists within the same destination, so that substantial quality deficiencies are not appreciated between the different products (agents) that make up the offer in the destination and, with it , negative conditioning of the perception and satisfaction of tourists.

Among other tools, it has 32 good practice manuals, one for each trade.

It offers the companies and tourist services adhered to a training plan, collective workshops, technical assistance visits by approved advisers, work groups that develop proposals for improvement for the destination and evaluations that contrast the adequacy of the company / service to quality standards.

All of this culminates in obtaining the distinctive Tourist Quality Commitment.

This is granted to tourist companies and services that have proven compliance with the established requirements.

It is a recognition of effort and commitment to quality and continuous improvement, while distinguishing the establishment from the competition.

The badge is valid every two years, although it is subject to an annual follow-up evaluation.
