[The City Council requests the immediate reinforcement of the guilas-Murcia bus line, especially so that students can take their face-to-face exams (12/01/2021)

The councilors of Urban Mobility and Youth, Jos Manuel G lvez and Juan Andr s Torres, have pointed out the lack of foresight of the General Directorate of Mobility by not taking into account that, with the reduction of the capacity in transport, many people find it difficult to travel for academic reasons, medical appointments and also administrative procedures (traffic, social security, etc).

The Councilor for Youth has explained that many students have been affected by this lack of buses.

"The presence of the exams forces hundreds of students to travel from the municipality of Aguilas to the city of Murcia.

This circumstance, together with the perimeter confinement and the sanitary restrictions that affect public transport, is generating a lot of uncertainty and must be solved as soon as possible. With the reduction of capacity to 50% in transport due to the Pandemic and the decision of the UMU and the Regional Government that the exams be face-to-face, the situation arises that many of our students do not have a place to travel to the University ".

For this reason, the mayor of Youth has highlighted the need to reinforce the line that connects Aguilas with the Murcian capital to facilitate the safe transfer of aquiline and aquiline.

"We care about our university students, and that is why, given that the University of Murcia has decided that the examination session be face-to-face, what we request now is that, at least, they have sufficient foresight to guarantee the displacement needs that arise among students ", Torres pointed out.

The municipal councilors from Aguilas have requested that the bus line that connects the town with Murcia be strengthened, since currently only one bus leaves from Aguilas at 7:00 in the morning and another from the Murcian capital at 13:30 .

"We ask for a useful and reasonable schedule for all citizens of Aguilas, since we do not want the restrictions to limit their needs, but rather to help us to ensure their travel by complying with all the social and health measures imposed," claimed G lvez.
