| Five karatecas from the Águilas Karate Club have participated this weekend representing the Murcian Federation, in the Spanish Karate Championship by autonomies, in the Cadet, Junior, and Sub21 categories | The five aquiline athletes from the Juan Carlos Navarro Gómez club traveled together with the rest of the team from the Murcia Region Karate Federation to the city of Malaga, where this important championship was held.The karatecas of the aquiline club participating in this event were: Antonio Ibanovich, Gonzalo Barrios, Laura Piñero, Adrián Sedeño, and Zihao Miao.
All competed in the kumite modality in their respective categories.
All five were at a high level, some of them managing to win a fight, such as Laura Piñero, Adrián Sedeño, and Zihao Miao.
The latter, Zihao Miao achieving a creditable fourth place, remaining at the gates of bronze.
Mention also the effort of the rest of the components of the Murcian Federation in this championship, and of course, of the Murcian Irene Alcaraz, who has managed to proclaim herself runner-up in Spain in the U21 kata modality.The aquiline team, comes with good feelings, and continues to prepare the next national championships that they have this coming December.
One of them is the Grand Final of the National Karate League, to which the 12 first classified of the National League go in the kata modality, and the first eight in the kumite modality in their different weights.
At the moment, in the absence of the final lists being published, the Club Karate Águilas has already secured the classification for this Grand Final for Sergio Atienza and Heike Martínez in the kumite modality, and Alejandro Franco in the kata modality.
