Looije claims at Fruit Attraction the quality of its product and the use of technology in agriculture (03/11/2020)

| November 2, 2020 COMMUNICATION AND MARKETING DEPARTMENT LOOIJE | Last weekend Looije, the aquiline agricultural company specialized in the production and marketing of cherry tomatoes, put the finishing touch on its participation in Fruit Attraction Live Connect, the online version of the popular fruit and vegetable fair held annually at IFEMA.

Despite the difficulties posed by the current situation, the company has opted for a program of events that breathes tradition and in which the main aspects that define the company have been valued: the quality of its product and the importance of technological and industrial development in modern agriculture. Julio Velandrino, the renowned chef owner of the Taúlla restaurant, opened this special program with an original 'showcooking' in the greenhouse, in which he accompanied Sarita, the company's flagship cherry tomato, with products belonging to what he himself calls "the Murcian pantry ".

The exquisite final recipe thus featured fruit collected on site at the Looije facilities in Los Arejos.

"It has body and a first bite texture, but then it melts and the skin is not unpleasant" is the phrase with which Velandrino defined Sarita. A day later, the round table 'Is there life after 2020?' in which Juan José López, general director of the Organization of Looije Producers, acted as host and surrounded himself, inside the new greenhouses of Looije Águilas, with a luxurious guest poster, made up of some of the most relevant personalities of the agricultural world: Fernando Gómez, director of Proexport; Cele Buendía, manager of El Abuelo de los Melones; Cecilio Peregrín, corporate director of Primaflor; and José Carlos Gómez, executive director of El Dulze.

The event had a very notable impact within the specialized press and stood out, like the rest of the activities organized by the company during the Fruit Attraction, for being carried out in person.Looije thus sought to maintain a line of tradition and closeness in a fair in which most of the actions have been developed by videoconference. Finally, the Olympic medalist David Cal, now retired, starred in the interview / discussion 'The fruit and vegetables in the life of the elite athlete'.

In it, he addressed issues related to nutrition in the day-to-day life of an Olympic champion, but also with his own career, even going so far as to compare his career with Looije's evolution since its inception.

"I was impressed to see how the company started and how far it went.

It was a small company, when I started I was a small athlete.

You start out simply for pleasure, little by little you get better and better ...

And in the end, in sports, as in sports.

In life or in the business world, it's exactly the same: if you want to succeed in something, you have to sacrifice things and do your best to achieve the goals you set for yourself, "said Cal. The three events were broadcast live on the Fruit Attraction Live Connect platform and on Looije's YouTube channel: Tomate Sarita.

The latter, in addition, was recognized during the fair as the best in its category in the agricultural sector in Spain in this year 2020.

The award ceremony, traditionally held at IFEMA, also took place online.
