Last Monday, World Breast Cancer Day was celebrated, which the AECC Local Board wanted to commemorate with a mass in the Parish of San José, in memory of all the deceased. Respecting all the sanitary measures established for COVID, the celebration took place with the assistance of the mayor, Mari Carmen Moreno, Regional Deputies and several members of the Municipal Corporation together with the President of the Association, Magdalena Ros and other members of the AECC of Águilas. The mayor highlighted "the importance of prevention in the early detection of breast cancer."Subsequently, the traditional pink lighting of the Pava de la Balsa was carried out.

As a novelty, this year the Castillo San Juan de las Aguilas was also added as a symbolic way of making this day visible.
