The City Council launches a center for tracking and monitoring positive cases by Covid in the town (19/10/2020)

The Águilas City Council will launch a tracking and monitoring center for positives for Covid 19 in the coming days in light of the alarming increase in cases in recent days in our town. "This service, which will be developed by Civil Protection staff and volunteers, will serve to contact the new positives and locate all their contacts," explained the first mayor from Aguileña, Mari Carmen Moreno, who described as "vital" to streamline the work of tracking since "the isolation of these people is essential to avoid the uncontrolled spread of the virus in our municipality." Currently this tracking service is being developed by the Ministry of Health, but the daily data recorded by the Region makes it insufficient, so this decision has been made by the City Council.

It should be noted that today the training of Civil Protection staff and volunteers who will carry out this work has begun. Along the same lines, and also given the significant increase in active cases in the town, Moreno has once again urged the Ministry of Health to install a Covid point in the town where the PCR tests are carried out, as well as the start of antigen tests for those who present symptoms compatible with Covid 19.

"Aguilas needs a Covid point and needs it now.

We have requested it for more than fifteen days and we even made the facilities available to the Ministry to locate it but we still have no answer "- the first mayor has concluded.
