As was made public in the middle of last August, the Department of Equal Opportunities of the City of Águilas is immersed in the development of the II Municipal Equality Plan, an ambitious strategic plan whose objective is to improve the lives of women and men of the municipality in matters of equality, and that the work already started by the I Equality Plan (2010-2014) will continue.

Therefore, the importance of this plan, which will last several months, lies in the fact that it is the document that will mark the objectives and measures that will guide public policies for equality in Águilas for the next four years (2021-2024). After the presentation of the elaboration process to the Municipal Corporation, the Department of Equal Opportunities begins, with external technical advice, the diagnosis phase of the situation, in which the reality of Águilas will be reflected with a gender perspective and where they will be reflected the needs and areas for improvement of the municipality in terms of equal opportunities.

To do this, an investigation will be carried out that will combine statistical data, analysis of strategic documentation and the collection of qualitative research through in-depth interviews, questionnaires and discussion groups and that will therefore allow the participation of the citizens of Águilas. In this sense, and in order to find out the perception of aquiline men and women in matters of equality, an online questionnaire has been opened for the population.

This questionnaire will remain open for a couple of weeks, and it will be available from today at the link http://bit.ly/ii-plan-igualdad-gender-águilas.

To increase its scope, the Department will also send the questionnaire to associations, entities and institutions of civil society in Águilas, and it will be published on social networks and the media to facilitate citizen participation in the process of preparing the II Municipal Equality Plan. The mayor of the area, Elena Casado, has made an appeal to the public who has encouraged them to participate since it is fundamental to make the evaluation as real as possible.
