The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, has appealed to the public, asking for "understanding and responsibility" to face the current coronavirus pandemic that we are going through worldwide. Moreno has made this appeal as a result of the concern expressed by the personnel of the local health centers, who in recent weeks have been encountering many cases of "misunderstanding" by some citizens in the face of the new care protocols necessary in the aforementioned health centers and established both by the Ministry of Health and by the General Directorate of Public Health. In this sense, health sources have indicated that "an exceptional situation such as the one we are experiencing requires exceptional measures that are necessary to guarantee, as far as possible, the safety of all, both the staff and the patients who attend service".
In this sense, they have once again requested "understanding and patience while remembering that all inquiries and emergencies are being attended, by phone and in person when necessary." Along the same lines, they have explained that the new protocol, which must be maintained while the current health alert continues, establishes that in "face-to-face care is a doctor, who does not have to be the usual family doctor, the one who attends to patients ,while the rest of the health workers carry out telephone consultations and follow-up of people in home isolation due to Covid or suspect it ". Finally, they recalled that at the slightest suspicion or symptom compatible with Covid 19, they should contact the health center by phone, avoiding at all times to travel to it due to the serious consequences that it could entail for other people.
