The Local Police opens several disciplinary proceedings for abandoning belongings and furniture on public roads (24/06/2020)

Not respecting the schedules in which the garbage must be deposited, making improper use of the containers or abandoning furniture or fixtures without giving notice to the cleaning services for their collection are some of the sanctionable attitudes that are included in the Ordinance of Street Cleaning of the City Council of Águilas. In this sense, the mayor of the area, Isabel Fernández, pointed out that in the last week several sanctions have been imposed related to the abandonment of furniture and belongings on public roads.

"In a single day we can detect more than a hundred uncontrolled points where this type of waste is deposited; something that is totally unfeasible for the proper functioning of the service," lamented the mayor. To avoid this type of uncivil attitude, the City Council wanted to remember that the municipality has a home collection service for household goods.

It is a very simple procedure.

It is only necessary to make a call to 968 49 33 19 and agree on the day of collection, to leave on the street and on the indicated date, that used furniture that they no longer want at home.

The collection services will take care of these items, which will subsequently be given the appropriate treatment. "An easy, fast and environmentally friendly procedure, which also complies with the law and can prevent us from having to face economic sanctions," concluded Fernández.
