| The Asociación Salud Mental Águilas (AFEMAC), has not been an exception when it comes to adapting to the changes that the coronavirus pandemic that was declared last March throughout the world | Since the pertinent organizations revealed the impossibility of assisting users to the facilities of the center, the professionals established an action plan to cover them from the situation of confinement in which we found ourselves.
Specifically, it should be noted that, from the first moment, both associates and their families have received continuous psychological and social telephone attention; Very soon, in addition, virtual workshops (held on video call platforms) were organized to continue working in different areas related to mental health.
Specifically, sports, cognitive stimulation, creativity, positive psychology and general health workshops have been held, which has provided an important incentive for users,especially in the harshest months of the alarm state. As of today, the aforementioned activities continue to be carried out, although we are pleased to report that, since June 10, individual psychosocial care has already begun in person and from June 29 it will be possible to work with small groups of users.
All of this complying, logically, with the security protocol established by the Murcian Institute of Social Action (IMAS) for day centers. From the Águilas Mental Health Association-AFEMAC, we want to send all our support to the people who have been especially affected by the pandemic and we also send a message of encouragement and hope that will help us to overcome the difficult situation we are all experiencing soon.
