The mayor of Consumer Affairs reports on the new regulations on telecommunications (13/05/2020)

The mayor of Consumption, Encarna Navarro, has informed, through the Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC), of the rules that we must know, these days, related to telecommunications. During the alarm state, electronic communications services cannot be suspended or interrupted.

Therefore, the provision of the universal telecommunications service, the maintenance of electronic communications services and broadband connectivity are guaranteed. In this period there is no moratorium as such, but electronic communication services are guaranteed while the alarm status is in force, so that in that period they cannot be interrupted due to non-payment. In order to minimize the movements of users, portability is suspended when it affects those operations in which the presence of the operators involved or their agents or the user is necessary, except in exceptional cases of force majeure. The protection of consumers and users is reinforced by foreseeing that they will not be able to see their rates increase in the period of time when, as a consequence of the suspension, they cannot request a change in the company that provides electronic communications services. function { ;(, , {});}
