"The Mayor of Ãguilas signs the decree of measures two weeks after announcing it without taking into account any of the PP's proposals" (04/04/2020)

"We have to think about the day after and look for solutions from now on, with more far-reaching measures, as other municipalities are doing," stressed the mayor.

The spokeswoman for the People's Party in Aguila, Eva Reverte, has shown her surprise when she saw that the Mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, took almost two weeks to sign the decree of measures without taking into account any of the PP's proposals.

Reverte recalled that the socialist councilor signed the decree on April 2 despite the fact that she announced it on March 19, so "it is not logical that after almost two weeks none of the improvements that the PP proposed them on the 23rd of the same month and they were registered at the Town Hall ".

Reverte has stated that "it is time to anticipate and seek solutions for when all this happens, since unfortunately the health crisis entails a great economic crisis, from which many self-employed and SMEs are not going to succeed, and we have to work so that no one who has been forced to stop their activity, can then resume it again, sadly we will not be able to recover lost lives, but we can help to avoid losing jobs and businesses ".

The popular spokesperson recalled that the Popular Party called for more and better measures that have not been taken into account, despite having presented our proposals on March 23 and the decree being signed on April 2 "the only measure that it has taken into account the postponement of local taxes to the collection, and this has been carried out thanks to the instruction of the regional government of Fernando López Miras, who also offered the municipalities a line in advance of these taxes. "

Likewise, Reverte has explained that "the measures of the Mayor of Águilas are not sufficient in the current situation, to eliminate fees from the weekly market, or food market, of sports facilities, waste or occupation of the public thoroughfare of affected establishments, it is simply not to charge for what has been stopped lending, due to the cessation of their activity ".

The popular has added that "we have to think about the day after and look for solutions from now on; what we are working on from the Municipal People's Group, so it is time to mitigate the situation of families, companies and self-employed workers who have they have been forced to interrupt their work activity, with more far-reaching measures, as other municipalities are doing. "

"Today we are reaching out again to the local Executive to work together on initiatives that will benefit all citizens, since, now more than ever, we must act in a responsible and coordinated manner for the common interest of the residents of Eagles ", Reverte has concluded.
