The City Council of Águilas prioritizes these days the cleaning of streets and urban furniture as a prevention measure against the spread of COVID 19. "Some tasks," says the mayor of Street Cleaning, Isabel Fernández, "which are being carried out by means of washings with a disinfectant based on sodium hypochlorite, a cleaner, explained the mayor, with a high viricidal effect. "
The objective is to reduce to the maximum the possibilities of contagion by contact, which is why special attention is being paid to those areas where the establishments are located that, exceptionally, can continue to provide service despite the confinement decree.
"Although disinfection is being carried out in a general way throughout the municipality, its frequency increases remarkably in the vicinity of food establishments, gas stations, pharmacies and a health center," said Fernández.
In the same vein, the mayor of Cleaning made a special appeal to citizens to collaborate now more than ever with service workers;
In this sense, he stated, you must respect the schedules to deposit the garbage in the containers (from 20 to 22 hours), always leave the waste inside the container and in a closed bag and not leave items on public roads. "
Finally, the mayor wanted to thank "the great work being done by the workers of the service, carrying out a job that is currently vital to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. All of them are showing great responsibility and social commitment" .
