More than 200,000 people gathered last Saturday in Águilas to live one of the most anticipated and massive events of the festive calendar: the traditional Battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, the spectacular arrival of the Muse to the Plaza of Spain and the proclamation of the actor Fernando Tejero.
As usual, the events began in the Plenary Hall of the City of Águilas, where they were delivered, in the presence of the mayor of the town, Mari Carmen Moreno;
and the president of the Peñas Federation, José Alonso, the golden eagles to Luis Miguel Martín, Grand Master of the Crow;
InfoÁguilas, an entity on which the Golden Caracola has fallen this year;
as well as Fernando Tejero, a preacher of Carnival.
Minutes later the popular Glorieta de Águilas became on stage the Battle between Don Carnal and Doña Cuaresma, masterfully performed this year by Vicente Javier López and Encarni Ávila.
After the shell war, the components of the Official Carnival Ballet occupied the stage in anticipation of the spectacular appearance on the balcony of the Marina Sánchez City Hall, Musa del Carnaval and the main protagonist of this carnival edition.
Among applause, Marina offered in emotional proclamation with which it was clear that dreams, when pursued, always come true and more in a Carnival such as Águilas for which there are no barriers of any kind.
