Yesterday, Sunday, in the municipality of Águilas, sport reigned, with one of the most traditional events of the Fiesta par excellence: the Aguilas Carnival Duathlon, which this year celebrated its XXVI edition.
The color note was put by the many athletes who participated in disguise, as tradition marks.
The caravaqueña Paloma Sánchez Sala (Triathlon Caravaca Ortodent) and Cristóbal Valenzuela (Montilla Córdoba Triathlon) got the victory in a test that is qualifying for the Championship of Spain of Duathlon 2020 that will take place in Soria.
Paloma Sánchez, regional record holder of 1,500 meters of athletics, won a time of 1:05:18 ahead of Eva Sánchez (CEA Bétera) and Laura Ann Serres (Marlins Triathlon Madrid).
The first five positions were held by Txell Jarque (Katoa Barcelona) and Belén Sánchez (CT Arena Alicante).
Also outstanding was the performance of the young Murcian Paula Sánchez, who was sixth despite being still a cadet age.
It was also the best junior and the second regional, obtaining the passport for the National.
In age groups, the Cristina Cristina Moreno was the best, with Nuria García second and Clara Lorenzo in third place.
Cristóbal Valezuela, with a time of 54:13, surpassed Camilo Puertas (Alusigma Dental Portugaletekoa) and Miguel Risco (CT Arena Alicante).
The Councilors of Sports and Finance of the City of Águilas, Cristóbal Casado, and José Manuel Gálvez, were in charge of the trophy delivery, with the help of the adult and child characters of this Carnival 2020.
It should be noted the magnificent work developed by the staff of the Municipal Sports Board, in organizational matters.
Entity that apologizes for the inconvenience this event has caused so much relevance, with the conviction that the Argentine citizens can understand it, being treated as a town that has always been with the sport.
