Under the slogan "Not without consent", the mayor of Equality, Elena Casado, presented yesterday the campaign of prevention and awareness against sexual assaults that has been designed from the City of Aguilas on the occasion of the celebration of Carnival parties.
A campaign that, according to the mayor, "is also aimed at people who, without being victims, can become witnesses of aggression or abuse so that they become aware of the importance of denouncing this situation and not looking the other way."
Among the main actions is an audiovisual campaign that includes the projection of a spot in all the galas and events of the Carnival, as well as the installation of mupis and banners in the areas of greatest public concentration.
"This campaign - Casado continued - will be presented by the CAVI techniques in all the institutes of the town in an informative talk in which the simple operation of AlertCops, an application of Local Police and Civil Guard that allows alerting of any criminal act to security forces quickly, free and accurately. "
Finally, the councilwoman recalled that Aguilas will again have a Violet Point at these parties.
This space, which will be located in the Social Services premises, is specially designed to advise and assist any victim of sexist aggressions.
The volunteers who manage it inform and advise what should be done in case of suffering an aggression.
It is a place of denunciation, but also of prevention, so it is also open to anyone who hears or witnesses a sexist aggression.
The main objective is to make it clear that festive spaces cannot be an excuse and that partying is not all good because no, it is still not.
