The IV edition of the Short Story Eagles increases the economic amount of their awards (28/01/2020)

The IV edition of the Águilas Award for Short Story;

a contest launched with the aim of retaking the literary movement that marked the history of our municipality in the sixties, was presented this week by the mayor of Culture, Maido Simó, and the manager of the Auditorium and Congress Hall, Ramón Román.

This year, in which the contest arrives with the support of the more than 500 works that were presented in the last edition, the contest arrives with an important novelty as far as the prizes are concerned since it has been decided that the second and Third prize has an economic endowment of 500 euros each, maintaining, in addition, the prize of 1,500 euros for the winning work.

As for the period of presentation of the works, this will last until May 15, period after which the Culture Commission will begin the process of selecting them.

A Commission to which the mayor thanked "the important work they do in a totally selfless way for the culture in Águilas".

BASES:

All people who wish, regardless of their nationality, residents in Spain may attend, provided that the works are written in Spanish.

Each contestant may submit a single work that must necessarily be unpublished and has not been awarded in other competitions.

The City Council reserves the right to adopt the measures it deems appropriate to guarantee the authenticity of the works presented.

The stories will be free, to be chosen by the authors.

The stories will have an extension of between 1O and 25 pages in DIN A4 format, typed in double space, in Times New Roman font at 12 pt., In PDF and will be presented via mail.

Only jobs in this format will be accepted.

The shipment must include in the attached file: Name, surname, address and telephone number of the author and photocopy of the DNI / passport / residence card, declaration of authorship, originality, ownership of rights, of finding work free of charge and operating limitations, and acceptance of these rules.

The original submission deadline, which will be non-extendable, will end at 2 pm.

on May 15, 2020 and must be sent by email to the address: relatobreveaguilas@auditorio-aguilas.org and the Águilas Award short story.

An indivisible first prize of 1,500 euros is established, and a second and third prize both endowed with 500 euros each.

The City Council of Águilas will make a publication with the awarded works, also reserving the right of dissemination and publication, as well as the ownership of the awarded originals.

The number of copies published with the previous winning works will be 500.

The City of Águilas will appoint a jury in due course, which will be made up of people of recognized prestige and its composition will be made public at the time of awarding the prize.

Said jury will have full competence to apply and interpret these rules and their decisions will be final.

It will be the responsibility of the jury to reject those works that do not conform to the bases of this call, to grant the prizes, as well as to declare any of the prizes to be void if, in the jury's opinion, no work meets sufficient merits or does not conform to the conditions established in these bases.

All decisions of the Jury will be final.

The jury's decision will be issued in the second half of August 2018 and will be announced through the media and communicated directly to the winners.

The first prize winner agrees to attend the awards ceremony.

The act will take place at the place, date and time previously communicated.

The winner of the first prize will be entitled to the payment of the corresponding allowances in accordance with the provisions of Royal Decree 462/2002, of May 24, on compensation for service reasons.

Works not awarded or published will not be returned and will be destroyed thirty days after the issuance of the ruling.

The submission of works to this contest implies the unconditional acceptance of these rules by the authors.

Águilas City Council reserves the possibility of suspending the literary event whenever there are major causes duly justified and beyond its organization.
