The mayor of Street Cleaning, Isabel Fernández, has presented this morning the new Mobile Ecopark that now serves the town.
It is a vehicle that, due to its size, can be installed in different parts of the municipality, thus making it easier for neighbors to recycle a large number of waste that cannot be deposited in the usual containers.
The Mobile Ecopark will be located every Monday on the esplanade of the port, Wednesdays in Las Yucas and Fridays in Calabardina from 10 am to 2 pm.
The mayor has explained that during the next months a technician will monitor the use of it in order to adapt the schedule and frequency.
"Initially we started with the announced schedules, but it is planned to gradually expand to other areas of the town" - said Fernández.
As for the waste that can be deposited, there are metals, radiographs, small appliances, printer toner, mobiles, electronic waste, automotive batteries, light bulbs, batteries, cooking oil, automobile oil, paint containers, fluorescent tubes and televisions .
"This action demonstrates, once again, the commitment of this Government Team for the development of actions that serve to improve the environmental quality of our municipality, as well as to raise public awareness about the importance of recycling," concluded the councilor .
