The mayor of Águilas, Mari Carmen Moreno, has requested an urgent meeting with the president of the Autonomous Community, Fernando López Miras, and the Minister of Development, Patricio Valverde, after the approval on Tuesday in the Ordinary Plenary, with the votes in favor of the Government Team and the abstention of PP and Águilas Can, from the General Plan for Urban Planning.
From this moment, said Moreno, "it is only expected that the Ministry acts with the greatest speed to give final approval to a much-needed document for Águilas as, among other things, it will provide the necessary legal security for our farmers, entrepreneurs and potential investors develop their activities, which is why I have requested an emergency meeting with both the president and the counselor. "
The document has involved more than fourteen years of work.
"Our commitment was to unblock its processing and that's how it has been: The City Council has already done its part and now it is the turn of the Community."
In the same line, the first mayor thanked the work "of all the officials who in the last months have been dedicated if I rest to something so fundamental for the development of the municipality as is the General Plan of Urban Planning".
Among the main modifications included in the PGOU is the recovery of the delimitation of Protected Natural Space for Marina de Cope, according to the ruling issued by the Constitutional Court;
the expansion of industrial land that increases fivefold in relation to the current situation;
or the extension of the municipal cemetery
