El Hornillo beach hosted the V Emergency Days at Sea, organized by the Estella Diving Club, the Association of Diving Centers of the Region of Murcia and the City of Águilas and in which also participated Maritime Rescue, Captaincy and Cross Red
The exercise, which counted with the participation of more than sixty people, consisted of locating an injured diver.
Although the participation of aerial means was initially foreseen, a breakdown prevented it and finally all the activity was developed by sea.
Ginés Desiderio Navarro, mayor of Tourism, present at the conference, stressed the importance of this type of simulations that "allow to work in a coordinated manner, something fundamental when acting on any event of similar characteristics".
