The City Council replaces 2,000 meters of irrigation pipe in Ãguilas (25/05/2018)

The green areas of Águilas need constant irrigation and daily maintenance, so from the Consistory and the concessionaire STV Gestión, work is being done, for months, on replacing the irrigation pipes in these spaces.

"We look for something that seems easy but it is not so much: to achieve a total saving of each drop of water that the exemplary or green zone does not need, for this we are, progressively, replenishing the irrigation pipes that nourish our spaces and green areas", has explained the mayor of Service Provider Companies, Isabel Fernández.

Some works that have been made, among other places, in the Polígono del Labradorcico, the Church of Calabardina, the Arejos, Velarde Street, the Plaza de España or the Ficus de la Loma.

These new systems are relocated, mainly, by the creation of new facilities, for having been detected a poor state or by the expansion of the different green areas of the municipality of Águilas.

"We continue to try to be as respectful as possible with the environment, obtaining a result of total use of the water that is used every day in the municipality of Águilas", Fernández assured.

For this, along with these new more than 2,000 meters of drip hoses, there are different systems of programmers, from the most modern with wireless system for review and programming, to the most traditional.

In addition, the City Council has a new means of troubleshooting, consisting of a quad with a large briefcase that can be put, without causing any discomfort, in any space or green area to directly address a problem related to issues of plumbing.
