A course at the University of the Sea explores the role of unions in public administration (03/07/2009)

"The role of trade unions in the public II.

Matter of negotiation "is the title of the course of the International University of the Sea to be held in the town of Eagle from 6 to 10 July.

The course, led by Pedro José Gálvez Muñoz, manager of the University of Murcia, is intended as a reflection on the role that trade unions in the area of governance, taking into account the new features of the Basic Statute Public and legal differences existing in the group of civil servants and private enterprise.

According to Gálvez, the course aims to "open a brainstorming on some major issues of concern to the government related to trade unions."

The course includes a total of five round tables in which law professors, representatives of regional and state management, HR specialists and representatives of different trade unions will present their ideas on issues such as remuneration, working hours, plans pension, health and safety or performance appraisals.

The course also includes specialists from private companies that provide its expertise in these areas, including Los Angeles Camiña Monterde CLECE Resources director, and representatives of other administrations, that address their particular experiences, including Angel Cifuentes Cabal, Director General of Planning and Evaluation of Human Resources of the Principality of Asturias, who will present a national pioneer experience on the performance taking place in their region.

The course lasts 30 hours and provides for the acquisition of three free credits.
