Theatre to combat gender-based violence (26/11/2015)

The Footlights group, belonging to the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca, yesterday presented the work "Guernica: war and horror Gender Violence. War and horror", a play scheduled from the Department of Equality to mark the International Day Against Gender Violence.

The performance, which took place in the Auditorium and Congress Palace Infanta Elena, was conducted during two passes;

one aimed at students of high schools of the town and one for the general public.

The mayor of Equality, María Isabel Torrente, who attended the meeting stressed the importance of "carry out activities that serve to educate society."

Referring to the participation of students in this activity, Torrente said that "from the Department are very focused on working with schools and colleges in the city because we are convinced that co-education is one of the best weapons to cope with this terrible social scourge ".

The activities planned to mark the day 25N, will conclude this afternoon with the screening of participants in short shorts with violence to take place at 18 am at the House of Culture competition.
